When they first went public with their relationship, many were convinced it would simply be a short-lived fling.
They were young lovebirds who oozed sex appeal and the relationship would be over once the spark fizzled, critics said.
But Michael B Jordan and Lori Harvey are proving the haters wrong. Their relationship, which started in November 2020, is still going strong and Michael and Lori are as happily in love as when they first went public with their romance.
The couple shared steamy pictures on Instagram to ring in the new year.
The pictures show Lori (24) sitting on Michael’s lap as she dons a short, sparkly brown halter dress.
Another shows the couple sharing a passionate kiss.
The model and daughter of comedian Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie also shared a boomerang of her and the actor to her Instagram stories, writing “Baby daddy”.
Her story sparked speculation that she and Michael (34) might be having a baby.
One person that would welcome the pregnancy news is Steve.
The 64-year-old told Entertainment Online last year that Michael is as genuine and kind in private as he is in public.
“This guy is not a representative. He is genuinely who he looks like he is,” Steve says.
“It threw me off at first because he was so kind. You know, I figure, ‘Okay, this is the game right?’
“But it wasn’t, man. This dude was sincere and he’s proven to be a really, really good, good guy. I’m pulling for him, you know, for them.”
Michael has always been private about his love life but he says his relationship with Lori changed his outlook.
“I'm still private and I want to protect that, but it just felt like it was a moment of just wanting to put it out there and move on,” he says of going public with their romance.
“I am extremely happy.”
The actor says for his role in the new flick, A Journal For Jordan, he drew from his relationship with Lori.
In the film, directed by Denzel Washington, Michael plays soldier who gets deployed to Iraq but keeps a journal for his infant son, Jordan.
The movie is based on a story Sergeant Charles Monroe King, his wife Dana, and their son, Jordan.
“One of the things that helps me choose roles or which ones I stay away from is how much I feel like I have to give to the role,” Michael said during an appearance on The View.
“Certain life experiences I never had. So I didn’t feel like I could pull from a personal place. I could not make it connect to me.
“Now that I am in a place where I have fallen in love. I know what that’s like.”
