There aren’t many actors who can brag about having two spider species named in their honour or having sparked the creation of an entire religion.

But Jeff Bridges can lay claim to both these incredible achievements – and it’s all because of one memorable role. 

Although he’s starred in more than 70 films and scooped heaps of awards, including a coveted best actor Oscar, for many fans Jeff will always be Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski – the dagga-smoking deadbeat who emerged the unlikely hero in the hit 1998 comedy The Big Lebowski.
