Alicia Silverstone and her son, Bear, are extremely close.
During a discussion on The Ellen Fisher Podcast, the actress revealed that her 11-year-old, whose father is her ex-husband, musician Christopher Jarecki (45), still shares her bed.
“Bear and I still sleep together,” Alicia said. “I’ll be in trouble for saying that and I don’t really care.”
The Senior Year star went on to say her parenting method follows nature’s course.
“If you were in any kind of wild setting where there are animals . . . If you put your baby over there your baby is going to get eaten. It's not ideal for the baby to be over there.
“I’m a natural mama, and I’m a loving mama. I believe in love, I believe in nature and our society is scared of nature and love.
“Nurturing this little monkey and having him, you know, I just wanted to do what was healthiest for him at every turn.”

Alicia (45) also revealed that Bear barely wore nappies while potty training. Instead, she relied on his “cues” to help her tell when he needed to use the bathroom
“It’s so awesome. It’s so easy. When I was done feeding him, he'd go to the bathroom in the toilet. When he woke up from a nap, he went to the bathroom.”
The Clueless actress says she formed a close bond with her son during that time.
“The cues part for me was really fun because I thought he was flirting with me because he'd do this little smile. That’s when he had to pee.”
This isn't the first time Alicia has opened up about her rather unique approach to motherhood.
When Bear was 10 months old, the doting mom, who follows a strictly vegan diet, released a video on her website showing how she pre-chewed his food and fed him directly out of her mouth.
“I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast-iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum!”
“I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup from my mouth to his.”
“It’s his favourite … and mine. He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating,” she added.
After Alicia received a backlash from critics, who called her creepy and weird, she quickly addressed the negative comments.
“I can understand that it would make some people feel uncomfortable, possibly because it's new to them,” she told US TV show Entertainment Tonight.
“But I do want to let you know that this has been going on for thousands of years – still going on all over the place – and it's natural.”
She explained that her feeding method was part of the weaning process.
“While I'm still breastfeeding it's just a way to introduce him to food when he doesn't have teeth and he can't chew.”
