Being a celeb lookalike might not be as glamorous as it sounds.

Nathan Meads, who has gained worldwide recognition because of his uncanny resemblance to Hollywood star Brad Pitt, says his dating life is, well, the pits.

The sexy builder from Oxford in England says although he gets “hit on my women a lot”, he has been unable to form a lasting relationship.

Nathan (35) also complains that he has to put up with people cracking tasteless jokes about how he and Brad are related and speculating about how his mom must have had an affair with the 57-year-old Oscar winner.

“I was first told when I was 20 years old that I looked like Brad Pitt and this continued for about 10 years but I would always just laugh it off,” the single father-of-two explains. “A lot of people, even now, will do a double-take when they walk past me or will ask me for a picture, although some of them just take pictures without me realising.”

For the past three years he’s been able to cash in on the resemblance by working as a professional Brad lookalike, for which he sometimes earns up to £500 (R10 000) per booking.

And yet despite his good looks, he hasn’t managed to find his Ms Right.

Despite all the fame, Nathan, who is a builder, says that it’s been hard to find love.

He’s turned to dating apps in a bid to find “the one” but says it hasn’t been going well – he either gets stalked by women who think he’s Brad or is accused of having a fake profile.

“They’ll keep messaging me, so in the end I just deleted my dating profiles.”

It’s for this reason that Nathan has decided to give up his quest for love and focus on raising his daughters instead.

Although he’s never met Brad, he hopes to do so one day because he thinks they would have a lot in common.

“I am a big Brad Pitt fan and I think he’s a great actor,” Nathan says.

“He plays all of his roles brilliantly and seems like a real gentleman and a family man, so we have that in common, although we have very different bank balances.”
