She’s one of the world’s most beautiful and desirable women, but it looks like Charlize Theron may be hanging onto her single status for a good while longer – maybe even forever!

In a new interview with the Mirror, the Oscar-winner proclaimed she “doesn’t know if she’ll ever be able to live with somebody again”.

The 44-year-old broke up with her last live-in boyfriend, Irish actor Stuart Townsend, a decade ago and her last high-profile romance was with actor Sean Penn, which ended in 2015 after two years.

“To be totally frank, [if I did find someone] they might have to buy the house next to me. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to, like, be f***ing able to deal with that ever again. I’m too old for that sh**.”

The outspoken actress, who currently stars in the Netflix hit The Old Guard, says she’s “never felt alone” but is not averse to meeting someone.

“I enjoy being set up on dates. I do what I guess everybody else is doing out there. I’m open, I have fun. I can have a fun text exchange with somebody. But I don’t know if we’re going to [go to bed]. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

She acknowledges her busy life, which includes solo parenting daughters Jackson (8) and August (4), doesn’t make things any easier.

“My life right now just doesn’t allow for a lot of room for something like [romance] to happen – something that’s already incredibly difficult to achieve when you’re not a single mum. But in saying that, there’s not this need that drives me.”

She also had the best clapback when her youngest daughter recently told her she “needs a boyfriend”.

“I was in the car with my two girls and my little one said something like, 'You need a boyfriend!' And I said, ‘Actually, I don't. Right now, I feel really good,’ and she’s like, ‘But, you know what, mom? I just like, you need a boyfriend, you need like a relationship.’ And I was like, 'I am in a relationship. I'm in a relationship with myself right now,” she said during an interview on fashion designer Dianne von Furstenberg’s InCharge podcast.

Describing her daughter’s reaction, Charlize continued, “She had this look in her eye like she’d never really contemplated that that was even a possibility and I said, ‘That is a really important thing for you guys to know.’"

You go, Charlize.
