It appears Her Majesty is quite the joker – or at least according to Daniel Craig.
In an interview on The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert, the James Bond star was asked about his encounter with Queen Elizabeth when they both appeared in the London 2012 Olympic Games’ opening skit.
The 53-year-old actor revealed he found the British monarch “very funny”.
“She wants to crack a joke, and cracked a joke about me,” Daniel recalled. “We’re having our photographs taken and she just went, 'Oh no, he’s the one that doesn’t smile’. Fair enough!”
Seems he also got on well with the queen’s beloved corgis.
“I was rolling around on the floor with them most of the time,” he shared. “I think they have their own footmen, they’re very friendly.”
Daniel also revealed the skit, which saw him in his role as 007 interacting with the queen at Buckingham Palace then parachuting out of a helicopter with a body double dressed to resemble her and landing in the Olympic Stadium, was meant to be serious.
“It wasn’t supposed to be funny."
But he adds that the queen was a good sport.
“She was fun, incredibly game. We had a short space of time and I was a bit grumpy as it was my day off and suddenly I am at the palace with the queen at her private chamber.”
According to the A-lister, the queen improvised during the bits of the scene shot at Buckingham Palace.
“She was supposed to be sitting at the desk and she asked if she could write, so she pretended to write.”
Over the years the queen, who is currently celebrating her Platinum Jubilee year, has had countless interactions with celebrities. Here’s a look at some of the most memorable.
Michelle Obama breaks royal protocol
In 2009 during her state visit the former US first lady broke royal protocol by giving the queen a hug. However the monarch didn’t seem to mind and responded warmly.
David Beckham turns on the charm
She always looks like a love-struck schoolgirl whenever she gets to spend time with the famous former footballer. In 2016 at the Young Leaders Awards ceremony at Buckingham Palace the queen was snapped grinning from ear to ear as she greeted Becks.

A heart-to-heart with Angelina Jolie
In 2014, Her Majesty awarded the actress an honorary damehood for her humanitarian work, including her efforts to fight sexual violence and it seems the queen made quite an impression.
“She’s just this really lovely lady who really cares about people around the world,” Angelina said after their meeting.
“And she really cares about the future, and she wants your grandkids and her grandkids to be able to be running around, enjoying nature and other cultures . . . She thinks that really matters and I agree with her.”
