What was meant to be a bit of daddy-daughter fun turned into a bloody nose for David Beckham.
The former soccer player revealed on his Instagram stories that his daughter, Harper (10), bit him on the nose when he tickled her.
“Note to self, when tickling your daughter, don’t put your nose near her mouth,” David (46) quipped in the caption.
The Beckham brood are a tight-knit bunch but David and his youngest child are especially close.
The Inter Miami CF co-owner regularly shares adorable snaps of his only daughter online.
In one picture, David can be seen wrapping his arms around her.
“Nothing better than cuddle time,” he captioned the snap.
But the affection between father and daughter has caused some controversy in the past.
In 2017 David drew criticism from fans when he posted a picture of himself kissing Harper (then 5) on the lips.
Some of his followers deemed the kiss weird and inappropriate.
“On the lips? What has the world come to?” one user said. Another added they were “not sure about this picture”.
But the former Manchester United star defended the gesture, saying the only one of his four kids he doesn’t kiss on the lips is his eldest son, Brooklyn.
“I kiss all my kids on the lips,” he said.
“Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m affectionate with the kids.” David and his fashion designer wife, Victoria (47), also have two other sons, Romeo (19) and Cruz (16).
Last year the former England captain came under fire again when Victoria shared another picture of him kissing their daughter on the lips.
This time, however, fans quickly jumped to his defence, praising him for being a doting dad.
“Thank you for showing it’s perfectly normal and right for a father to kiss his daughter on the lips as a sign of love and true affection,” someone commented.
David has made no secret that Harper is the apple of his eye.
During an appearance on The Ellen Show last year, he admitted the little girl has him wrapped around her finger.
“She turns me to mush,” he told talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres.
“The boys obviously give me a little bit of stick as they know that any question they ask that I’ll say no to, they have to ask her to ask me.”
Golden Balls says he’s only said no to Harper one time – and quickly learnt his lesson.
“I can’t say no to her. I think I only said no to her once and her bottom lip started shivering, and I was like, ‘Never again’.”
