He may be in the throes of grief after accidentally shooting his colleague on the set of his movie Rust – yet rather than retreat from the limelight, Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, seem to be doing the exact opposite.
On Halloween Hilaria shared a snapshot of Alec and their kids, all dressed up in various costumes. In it, the actor is seen smiling as the couple and their kids celebrated the holiday.
Hilaria described parenting their brood after the tragedy as an “intense experience” in the accompanying caption. "We rallied around [kids] to give them a holiday," she said.
But the happy family snaps have been met with fierce backlash. The couple have been accused of being tone deaf for posting the pictures in light of Halyna Hutchins' death. Alec (63) accidentally killed the 42-year-old mother when a prop gun he was using on the set of the western was incorrectly loaded with a live bullet.
Alec and Hilaria have also been dragged online for posting about their missing cat in the wake of the tragedy. On Tuesday Hilaria (37) revealed their family feline, Emilio, had gone missing, and that she'd reported his disappearance to the local police.
Her post was met largely with disgust, with comments ranging from, “A person has just died” to “Someone's life is missing. How about that?”
One particularly irate person wrote, “Are they serious? Imagine killing your co-worker then a few days later asking for help because your kitty is missing.”
Hilaria later revealed that the cat had been found, albeit with a broken leg, but the damage had already been done.

However, the outspoken yoga instructor isn't taking the criticism lying down. She had some choice words for paparazzi and tabloid media who she says have been harassing them.
“As I write this, there are people, taking my picture, through the trees of the property we are staying at," she said on social media. "They have not respected our ask to have space, even after the interview we pulled over to do the other day. We have been chased around in cars – with our children. Several scary moments . . . this is dangerous. Please listen."
Many have labelled Hilaria “desperate for attention”, particularly after her behaviour during their recent road-side interview with media. As journalists directed questions at Alec, she tried to interrupt and defend him, which prompted the actor to snap at her twice.
In one instance he was overheard telling her, “Do me a favour, I'll take this question”.
This isn't the first time Hilaria has been called an attention-seeker.
She was raked over the coals for faking her Spanish accent and ancestry a few months back. She's also been criticised for wearing sexy lingerie while doing yoga or more recently, breast-pumping on her Instagram account.

Alec, meanwhile, is said to be devastated about Halyna's death. Speaking to reporters, he described the cinematographer as his friend, adding that he'd taken her for dinner the day before she was killed.
He also said he'd been ordered by the Santa Fe Sheriff's Office not to talk about the investigation, but said he is “eagerly awaiting for the sheriff's department to release their findings.”
Alec, who is also a producer on the film, has come under fire for the fatal accident following reports that there were unsafe working conditions on the Rust set. Though he hasn't addressed the claims directly, he shared a post from a co-worker which makes his feelings on the matter very clear.
In the Instagram post that he shared, Rust costume designer Terese Magpale Davis defended the production team and disputed reports that they were working in unsafe conditions. "I'm so sick of this narrative," she wrote.
"These are not studio producers who see us as walking dollar signs. They cared about us while we all worked together and they continue to care."
