It isn’t always easy to remain friends with an ex – particularly after a public split – but Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston seem to be great friends.
The actors started out as buddies before splitting up in 2017 after two-and-a-half years of marriage. Despite their public divorce, Justin (49) says he’s in regular contact with Jennifer (52). "We FaceTime, we text,” he says. “Like it or not, we didn't have that dramatic split, and we love each other.
“I'm sincere when I say I cherish our friendship,” Justin says. “She makes me laugh very, very hard. She’s a hilarious person. It would be a loss if we weren’t in contact, for me personally. And I’d like to think the same for her.”
The two met in 2007 on the set of Tropic Thunder, which Justin had co-written. Sparks flew when they starred together in the 2010 film Wanderlust and a year later, they started dating.

Jennifer and Justin worked hard to keep their relationship private, from their low-key engagement to their private wedding ceremony in their backyard, so fans were shocked when they announced they were going their separate ways.
Now Justin has broken his silence on the split, putting an end to rumours they broke up because he wanted to live in New York while Jennifer wanted to remain in Los Angeles. “That’s a narrative that is not true, for the most part,” he says. “People create narratives that make themselves feel better or simplify things for them. It’s an oversimplification.”

Justin isn’t Jen’s only friendly ex – she’s also grown closer to Brad Pitt (57), her former husband of five years. The two “have been in touch plenty during the lockdown, chatting over the phone and via Zoom, plus hanging out from time to time”, a source says.
Dare we hope for a reunion?
