When you know you know, right?
It seems for Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley and American football hunk Aaron Rodgers those words couldn't be truer.
After a whirlwind romance, the 37-year-old athlete referred to the Adrift star as his fiancée at the recent NFL Honours ceremony.
While he didn't disclose any details about the proposal or even his beloved’s identity, sources have since confirmed Shailene is the lucky lady.
It's not clear when the pair first became an item, but Aaron reportedly split from his last girlfriend, race-car driver Danica Patrick, in July last year. Before that the sports star was in a relationship with X-Men: Apocalypse star Olivia Munn for three years.
Last April, Shailene (29) spoke about being single, after breaking off a three-year romance with Fijian rugby player Ben Volavola whom she started dating in 2017.
“We were very much on the road to marriage and children,” she said during an interview last year. But while filming 2020 movie Endings Beginnings, she admits to having had a major revelation.
“I realised I was still at an age where I wasn’t able to fully commit. I couldn’t be available to him in the way that I wanted to be. I didn’t fully love myself.”
Now it seems the actress has had a change of heart on the marriage front.
Her romance with Aaron has been on the boil for months. Last September he referred to his "new and increased love life" during an interview.
Without sharing specifics about the woman who’d stolen his heart, he said, "I've made decisions and changes and habits that put me in better headspace and there's just a lot of things that have come together in my life over the last few months that have really been enjoyable.
"That's why I'm having so much fun and it starts with love," the Green Bay Packers quarterback added.
An insider claims the couple are excited to start this next chapter.
"They can't wait to get married and they want it to happen soon. They had a very intense connection from the beginning," the insider explains. "They both knew early on that it was something special and different from what they had experienced in other relationships. It's a quick engagement, but for those that know them, it didn't come as a surprise."
A second source spoke a little more about their relationship, which has been long distance at times.
"She is very supportive of his career and embraced his life in Green Bay. Even though she has her own career and life, she wanted to be there with him. Over the next year, they plan to spend some time travelling and enjoying a warmer climate.
"They are very happy together. It's not surprising he proposed so fast. When you know, you know, right?"
