Justin Bieber joins the list of celebs who are banned from owning limited-edition Ferraris.
Ferrari is known to ban well-known owners from selling their cars within a year of buying them, to prevent them from making a quick-buck purely because they are listed as a previous owner.
Now the Lonely singer has joined fellow celebs who are no longer being sold limited-edition Ferraris or exclusive models – they can only buy series production models.
The Canadian popstar, who has an impressive car collection, is a big fan of the Italian brand, having owned a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Ferrari LaFerrari.
Justin bought the white Ferrari 458 Italia, which is priced from R3,8 million, in August 2016.
He customised the supercar, transforming its exterior to electric blue and the interior to be all-black, with black and white leather seats.
Then, a few months later, he lost the car.
Justin had driven his blue Ferrari to the Montage Hotel to meet his pals before going clubbing, according to reports, but after his night out he couldn’t remember where he had parked his car.
It took his assistants three weeks to eventually find it.
After all that, he sold the car at an auction in 2017 – but he ran into trouble with Ferrari. The company doesn’t like car owners selling their cars within a year of buying them or making unauthorised modifications without consulting them.

Italian newspaper Il Giornale reported that Justin’s “neglect” was enough to get him banned for life from buying special-edition Ferraris.
The Italian car manufacturer said, “Ferrari reserves the right to decide on special editions.”

Other stars who have fallen foul of Ferrari include:
- Rapper Tyga, who has frequently leased cars but allegedly failed to pay his monthly instalments to Ferrari and was sued by the company.
- Legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr reportedly bought a Ferrari for the sole purpose of showing off, before selling it a few months later. Ferrari reportedly frowns on owners who buy cars simply to show them off.
- Kim Kardashian’s alleged transgression with Ferrari hasn’t been widely publicised. She was last seen with a brand-new Ferrari in 2012, but it’s not known if it was owned by her or her ex-husband, Kanye West. The businesswoman is known for customising her cars and recently revealed she had her Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and Maybach all painted the same shade of ghost gray as her home.
- Nicolas Cage had an extensive car collection including a R15,8 million Ferrari Enzo. By 2009, he was broke and was forced to sell his properties and cars or face bankruptcy. All of his prized Ferraris were auctioned, which the brand was not pleased about and they reportedly banned him for life from buying Ferraris, saying he had hurt their brand.
- When rapper 50 Cent’s Ferrari 488, wouldn’t start because of a dead battery, he went to Instagram to voice his displeasure with the Italian brand, writing, “f***ing lemon,” which, predictably, did not go down well with Ferrari.
