Katie Holmes may have gone to great lengths to keep her six-year romance with Jamie Foxx out of the public eye, but it seems she’s taking a different tack with her new beau.
The actress and her new flame, chef Emilio Vitolo Jnr, were being anything but discreet when they recently got up close and personal during a romantic dinner date.
The lovestruck 41-year-old was photographed sitting on Emilio’s lap as the pair shared a sweet kiss while dining at a restaurant in New York City on Monday.
The PDA-filled outing confirms dating
rumours which have been swirling since the pair were
spotted chatting and laughing at a Mediterranean restaurant in the Big
Apple earlier this month.
It's the Jack and Jill star’s first public romance since she split from Jamie (52) last year. She was last seen with the Baby Driver star at the Met Gala in May last year – their first and last red carpet appearance as a couple.
The pair, who were thought to have been
dating since 2013, kept their relationship very private. Following their split,
told People that the relationship had run its course and that there were no
hard feelings between the pair.
Prior to her romance with Jamie, the Dawson’s Creek alum was married to Tom Cruise (58) – with whom she shares daughter Suri (14) – from 2006-2012.
So, who is Katie's hot (and younger) new man? The 33-year-old New Yorker is a professional chef, and the son of Italian chef Emilio Vitolo Snr. He grew up working in his father’s New York City restaurant, Emilio’s Ballato, and now runs the popular celebrity hotspot with his two brothers.
Actress Whoopi Goldberg is such a fan of Emilio’s
magic in the kitchen that she brought him in for an InStyle magazine feature.
"Coming here is like coming into someone’s house," she told the magazine of Emilio's Ballato, where she's been a regular for 20 years. "It always feels good because it’s homey."
Other famous fans of the restaurant include
Hollywood star Denzel
Washington, former US president
Barack Obama, rocker Lenny
Kravitz, Friends alum David
Schwimmer and actor Cuba
Gooding Jnr, among others.
Emilio isn't just a chef to the stars, he also counts some of them as friends. He rang in the New Year with singer Joe Jonas and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner back in 2018, and attended their wedding in August last year.
Given his Tinseltown connections it’s no
surprise that Emilio has also dipped his toe into the acting pool with roles in
TV shows like Royal Pains and Inside Amy Schumer. According to his IMDB page he will next be seen
in the film, The Birthday Cake, which stars Ewan McGregor and Val Kilmer.
