The Friends star is keeping her options open and hopes to date someone out of the public eye next.
“That’s what I’m sort of hoping for,” she says in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Not necessarily someone in the industry itself. That’d be nice.”
Jennifer Aniston, who has been married to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, adds that she’s happy to “stick to the normal ways” of meeting people.
Asked if she would ever try finding love on a dating app, she replied, “Absolutely no.”
“Having someone ask you out – that’s the way I would prefer it.”
The 52-year-old actress was most recently linked to her Friends co-star David Schwimmer, something she found “bizarre”.
“I could not believe
that actually. Like, really? That’s my brother. But I understand it though. It
just shows you how hopeful people are for fantasies, for dreams to come true.”
Jen and David ignited fans’ fantasies during the Friends reunion special earlier this year when he admitted to having a “major crush” on her back in the day.
“But it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary,” he added. “We respected that.”
The feeling was mutual, Jen added.
“Honestly I remember saying one time to David, ‘It's going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television’,” Jen says. “Sure enough, first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.”
But because neither was single at the same time, “we channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel”, Jen said.
In an interview with People, Jen said she had no interest in tying the knot for a third time and is more focused on finding a “fantastic life partner”.
“I just want to live an enjoyable life and for us to have fun with one another,” she said.
“That's all we should hope for. It doesn't have to be etched in stone in legal documents.”
And while she waits on the
perfect partner, Jen says she’s in a really peaceful place sharing her life
with dogs Clyde, Sophie and Lord Chesterfield.
“I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me and I have beautiful dogs,” she says.
“I'm just a very fortunate and blessed human being.”
