Bennifer 2.0 seems to be going from strength to strength. After all, you don’t start spending time with each other’s offspring unless things are starting to get pretty serious.
Ben Affleck was recently spotted on a fun day out with his youngest daughter, Seraphina (12), and son, Samuel (9), as well as Jennifer Lopez’s 13-year-old daughter, Emme, in Universal City, California.
The two-time Oscar winner also spent time with Emme and her twin brother, Max, at a recent party to celebrate the 50th birthday of Jennifer’s youngest sister, Lynda. Ben (48) and Jen (51) were snapped locking lips at the bash, which was held in Nobu restaurant in Malibu.
An eyewitness says The Way Back actor was great with Jen’s kids.
“He was asking them questions and smiling. He was engaged and seemed to like hanging out with them.
“They all left together and Ben opened the car door for the kids and made sure they got inside. He was smiling the whole night and seemed happy with the family."
The twins are warming up to their mom’s former fiancé, and Ben has made sure to charm them during family outings, according to another insider.
“Her kids really like Ben and think he’s funny and fun to be around. He’s totally won the family over.”
But Ben has reportedly had a harder time convincing his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner (49), that his rekindled romance is serious enough to involve their three kids.
Jennifer and Ben, who parted ways in 2015 after 10 years of marriage, have different parenting styles and she took a while to warm to the idea of their kids spending time with her ex and his on-again love.
“Jen wanted to wait until she felt confident that Ben and J Lo are going the distance and the children feel settled and comfortable enough to be around her,” a source close to the family says.
“She doesn’t do double standards and applies the same rule to her own partners.”
Yet it seems the Yes Day actress has finally given her consent to the introduction, if the Universal City outing is anything to go by. J Lo and Ben were also spotted going out to lunch on a separate occasion with Emme and Samuel in tow.
Things are going swimmingly for the reunited couple, insiders say.
“They’re inseparable,” a source in J Lo’s camp says. “She’s never been happier and knows it was meant to be.”
In fact, things are going so well the Booty singer is reportedly putting down serious roots in Los Angeles – where Ben is based – and “packing up her Miami rental”.
It’s still unclear when exactly she’ll make the big move, but the Grammy nominee is ready to make California a permanent home for herself and her kids.
“She’s excited about a fresh start and pursuing things with Ben,” the insider adds.
J Lo and Max were pictured checking out a LA school earlier this month, and according to the source the kids are “onboard with starting fresh in Los Angeles”.
“They’re slowly getting to know Ben. Everything seems to be running smoothly. It’s obvious that Jennifer is serious about Ben. She hasn’t looked this happy for a long time.”
The kids aren’t the only ones in the Lopez clan who’ve given Ben the stamp of approval.
The pop star’s mom, Guadalupe Rodríguez (75), is apparently over the moon that the couple have managed to find their way back to each other.
“In the past, Jennifer’s mom and Ben were close,” a source says.
“Guadalupe loved Ben. She was sad when they couldn’t work things out years ago. She’s thrilled that they’re back together now.”
