John Cena certainly has a heart to match the size of his muscles.
The former wrestler and now Hollywood action hero recently flew to Europe to meet a special fan who'd been dreaming of meeting him.
Misha Rohozhyn and his mother, Liana, fled Mariupol, Ukraine, in March. Misha (19) has Down syndrome and his mom motivated him to escape the war-torn country with the promise that John was waiting for them in America.
John (45) wasn't aware of her assurances to the teen, but when he read about Misha in an article about refugees with special needs, he knew he needed to meet him. He was so touched by the teenager’s tale that he hopped aboard a plane to the Netherlands to visit Misha at the refugee centre near Amsterdam where he and his family were staying.
“Misha, it's very nice to meet you. I've come a long way to see you,” he told the youngster as he gave him and his mom a hug.
John also gave him with a WWE belt, a T-shirt and cap, as well as an action figure.
The youngster was understandably overcome with emotion and excitement at meeting his hero, who also stayed for tea.
“This was a wonderful adventure in which I got to meet a wonderful new friend. Thank you for giving me strength. How special is today? Yeah, pretty darn special,” John gushed.
The Peacemaker actor says he's now the teen's biggest fan.
“I think Misha and his mom are two great examples of how persistence can lead to joy, even through the toughest of times.”
