Kanye West’s ex, Julia Fox, has lifted the lid on their whirlwind relationship saying she broke up with the rapper because being with him “just wasn’t sustainable”.
The Italian-born, New York-raised actress called it quits on Valentine’s Day, just six weeks after they met at a New Year’s Eve concert in Miami.
“I tried my best to make it work,” the 32-year-old beauty told the New York Times. “I already had a jam-packed life. How do I fit this really big personality into this already full life? It just wasn’t sustainable. I lost like 15 pounds (about seven kilos) in that month.”
The two turned heads with their striking fashion and PDA-filled appearances, leading some to dub them a “showmance”.
However, she denies their relationship was a publicity stunt. “There were definitely elements of it that were real.
“It definitely felt like I was his girlfriend. But it also felt like I was being cast in the role of his girlfriend – and he was casting me. He was the orchestrator of it all. It really did feel like a movie.”
Commenting on the criticism she received, especially from online trolls, she said, “It’s not real. It’s only happening on the internet.
“I’m not actively engaging with it. I don’t feel it. I’m still 1 000 percent me. Nothing’s changed, except, I will say, having been around Kanye was like a crash course on how to be famous.”
The Uncut Gems star, who has a one-year-old son Valentino with her ex-husband, pilot Peter Artemiev, admitted she didn’t think she and Kanye were exclusive.
But she’s grateful for their short time together and has saluted him for the “priceless exposure” he gave her.
“Look at the big picture. That was amazing for me.”
Ye has since started dating influencer and Kim Kardashian lookalike Chaney Jones.
