Mariah Carey seems to have found endless love – and she wants her ex to know it!
Her former husband Nick Cannon chose Valentine’s Day to release a new song, called Alone, a ballad that samples Mariah’s 1990 hit Love Takes Time. According to Nick, the song perfectly describes his feelings for her.
“This is the gospel of my broken soul,” he says. “This is as raw as it gets.”
Mariah and Nick were married from 2008 until 2016 and share 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
In the song, Nick, who fathered five children after their split, declares his eternal love and respect for the five-time Grammy Award winner.

He goes on to say that life without her has been pretty hard.
"I say I’m cool when I know I miss it," he sings. "I trade it all for the case if I could have you back. If I could go back to where we started at."
Though the lyrics seem to be hinting at reconciliation, he goes on to admit she’s better off without him.
“As much as I want you back, it’s probably better where you at. Cause I’m still all in the sheets, having babies, models and singers and actresses saying they pregnant by me.”
Just days after the song's release, in what seems to be a subtle and shady response to Nick's declaration of love, Mariah posted a rare picture of her and boyfriend Bryan Tanaka on social media.
Mariah and Bryan started dating in 2016 after she called it quits with Australian billionaire James Packer.
In the picture, the singer looks radian in a black and red corset accessorised with a diamond necklace, while the dancer wears a black T-shirt, red velvet robe and matching diamond chain.
“Valentine’s marathon continues. Hour 23!” Mariah captioned the picture.
But despite appearances, Nick revealed in a recent episode of his talk show that the song wasn’t really about trying to get her back.
"It was taking ownership of what I did as a man and owning my flaws,” he explained.

Though Mariah hasn't said anything about Nick's feelings, she lifted the lid on some of their marital problems in her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
“Honestly, I think Nick and I could've worked it out between the two of us, but egos and emotions got inflamed," she wrote.
“Making the necessary adult adjustments to being working parents in entertainment took its toll on our relationship.”
