The flames of a once intensely passionate romance between Pamela Anderson and Dan Hayhurst have now been well and truly doused.
The 54-year-old fell head-over-heels in love with Dan, at the time her bodyguard and handyman, in 2020. And on Christmas Eve that same year, the lovebirds tied the knot in a secret ceremony at the Baywatch star’s Vancouver Island home in Canada.
While at first the couple enjoyed each other’s company as they holed up in Pamela’s mansion during the pandemic, being together 24/7 started taking its toll on their relationship – which the actress' friends describe as a “pandemic whirlwind that petered out".
“Dan turned out to be a d**k to Pamela — he was unkind and unsupportive,” a source close to Pamela reveals. “After you spent two years living every second with someone, you get to know them better — and for worse.”
The insider goes on to explain that as Pamela got to know Dan better, she realised he wasn't the one for her.
The couple were said to be fighting more in recent months but while Dan was optimistic that they could make things work, the mom of two had no such illusion.
“Pamela had initially said it was nice to be with a regular guy who could change a lightbulb, but in the end, while the lightbulb was nice, he couldn’t fulfil her other needs,” the insider adds.
Even though the former Baywatch star thought she'd finally found her Mr Right and another chance at happiness following a string of failed relationships, her friends believe she hadn't really considered all angles before marrying Dan.
“Pamela rushed into [the] marriage,” explains the insider, adding that she's “having regrets”.
“She saw the marriage as a fresh start, but the spark has faded.”
Now, after just 13 months of marriage, Pam has unceremoniously walked out of the matrimonial home and is filing for divorce. “She left Dan and his kids without a single goodbye,” the insider says.
“He really wants to make the marriage work,” another source reckons. But it seems the former Playboy Playmate isn't wasting any time in moving on. She was recently spotted out with another man in Malibu, California, her wedding band conspicuously absent.
Though in the beginning Pamela was clearly enamoured by Dan, once saying he's “a man who truly loves me”, their relationship was built on deceit, with Dan’s ex-wife, Carey, accusing the actress of being a homewrecker.
“I want people to know that my almost five-year relationship, with three children involved, ended because of the affair Pam and Dan started while he was still with me,” Carey said.
“It’s sad that people celebrate this and cheer them on when it started with deceit, denials and life-shattering choices for all the people involved.”
Pamela’s string of unsuccessful marriages dates back to 1995 after she first wed drummer Tommy Lee just four days after their meeting. Tommy and Pamela were married for three years and had two sons, Brandon and Dylan, before they split after he assaulted her.
In 2006 Pamela wed muso Kid Rock but they called things quit a year later, citing irreconcilable differences. She went onto tie the knot with poker ace Rick Salomon in Las Vegas in 2007, but 10 weeks later they went their separate ways. They got back together again years later and wed again in 2014. A year later they had divorced again.
In January 2020, just months before she said “I do” to Dan, Pam reportedly wed film producer Jon Peters in a hush-hush ceremony. They divorced 12 days later.
