She’s a legend, America’s eternal sweetheart and the ultimate romcom queen with her megawatt smile and special brand of magic that lights up the screen. Julia Roberts is synonymous with some of the most memorable movies in recent Hollywood history – Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, Runaway Bride, My Best Friend’s Wedding … You name it, she’s rom-commed the hell out of it.

But try to name a movie Julia has been in over the past four years and you’re likely to draw a blank. That’s because she hasn’t been in anything – but it’s not because Tinseltown’s golden girl has lost her Midas touch. It’s because nothing has come her way that she’s fancied.

“If I’d read anything that I thought was that Notting Hill level of writing or My Best Friend’s Wedding level of madcap fun, I would do it,” the 54-year-old star tells the New York Times in a new interview.
