Britney Spears gets closer to getting out of her conservatorship, there's no
sign of the drama in her life letting up – now her mother, Lynne, is demanding
close to R10 million from Britney's estate.
Lynne (66) says this money is to pay her lawyers, as she claims she was involved in the legal battle to bring an end to the singer's 13-year-long conservatorship.
Her request came as Britney (39) slammed her mother in a since-deleted Instagram post.
“Pssss my dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago … but what people don't know is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea !!!!" Britney wrote. “I will never get those years back. “She added, “She secretly ruined my life.
“So take your whole ‘I have NO IDEA what's going on' attitude and go f**k yourself!!!!
“You know exactly what you did. my dad is not smart enough to think of a conservatorship … but tonight I will smile knowing I have a new life ahead of me !!!!”

Her post followed Lynne filing a petition in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, which alleges that she played a role in the talks to end the conservatorship agreement.
“Lynne and her counsel submit that they have contributed to and achieved Lynne's mission of breaking the restrictions imposed by the conservatorship, removing Jamie as conservator, and have pushed toward the goal of ultimately terminating the entire conservatorship,” said Lynne’s attorney in the petition.
Lynne also asked that Britney’s estate cough up more than $650,000 (around R9,9 million) for her lawyer's fees and additional costs that she spent during the case.
“It is because Lynne's counsel questioned the adequacy of Jamie's competence to remain as conservator of the person and identified the lack of checks and balances over his service as conservator of the estate... that in mid-2019 ... real discussions began about limiting Jamie's involvement in the conservatorship,” her lawyers said.
Jamie’s attorney, Alex Weingarten, also filed court documents on Monday, asking that the conservatorship be terminated immediately.
“Britney's recent testimony and requests to take personal control of her estate and affairs have made clear that continuing the conservatorship is contrary to her desires,” the document stated.
“Therefore, Jamie sees no reason why the conservatorship should continue for any amount of time and asserts he has no interest in the conservatorship continuing.”
The document went on to state that the 69-year-old father “loves and supports” his daughter.
“Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her. For the last 13 years, that included serving as her conservator. Now, it means ending her Conservatorship.”
In September, Judge Brenda Penny suspended Jamie as a conservator of the singer's finances and on 12 November she will be handing down judgement on whether to terminate the entire conservatorship.
