It was a moment they’d all been dreading – and when it came, there wasn’t a dry eye among them. With all the tears that were flowing it looked as if the cast of Modern Family had been shooting a tissue commercial rather than a hit comedy.
But there was a good reason for all the emotion: they all knew it was the last time they’d be together on set. After more than a decade and 250 episodes, it was the end of the road for the much-loved series.
“It was a lot more profound and heartbreaking than I expected it to be,” says Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays Mitchell. “I think we all cried a lot harder than we thought we would.”
