The trial was like witnessing a car crash – appalling but impossible not to watch. For 16 days of gory ghastliness, two Hollywood stars stripped off their gloves and went at each other with bare and brutal knuckles. 

There was nothing the world didn’t learn about the sordid lives of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The drugs, the drink, the claims of abuse on both sides, the teacup Yorkie (hers) dangled from a car window, the lopped-off fingertip (his), the poop (hers) in the marital bed. 

And at the end of it all, Johnny was the legal loser. He’d sued The Sun newspaper for libel after they called him a wife beater but the judge in the London court where the sorry saga played out recently ruled against him.
