Newly minted Oscar-winner Will Smith is the toast of this year’s awards season and everyone who is anyone has been singing his praises - until his very public display of violence that could mar his big comeback moment

The 53-year-old star has spent the past few years confounding fans with some very public soul-searching, and one very unexpected, and public, display of violence, when he slapped Oscar host Chris Rock after he joked about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith at this year's award ceremony.

Will and Chris had been pals, until the 2016 Oscars, when the comedian, who was also hosting the ceremony then, cracked a joke about Jada not being invited to the awards. The actress had been boycotting the Oscars in support of the Oscars So White movement.
