Looks like the Parnells will have their pigeon pair before the end of the year – Aisha and Wayne are expecting a little girl.

The couple recently hosted their close friends and family members for a swanky gender-reveal party where they shared their baby bliss.Aisha and Wayne also have a two-year-old son, Khalid, and the cricketer says the little boy can’t wait to meet his baby sister.

“Khalid is excited to be a big brother because he has cousins who are brothers,” Wayne tells us.

“He calls the baby ‘princess’ or ‘baby Dino’. He’s very excited and says the baby is swimming in his tummy just like mommy.”

Wayne is also looking forward to welcoming a daughter.

“I love my son, he’s an absolute champion, but I’m excited to see what this little princess has in store. I’ve had experiences with a few nieces but I’m sure this is going to be different and super special.”

When she suspected she was pregnant, influencer and businesswoman Aisha took a pregnancy test.

“The first test came back negative. The next week I took another, and it was positive. I got super excited and immediately called my sister.”

But she couldn’t bring herself to tell her sister before sharing the news with Wayne, who was away on a tour,

“So I ended up telling her I forgot why I called and would call back tomorrow”, she says.

Wayne admits his reaction to joining the dad-of-two club was a little underwhelming at first. Ayesha broke the baby news to him in the sweetest way: she hid her positive pregnancy test under a chocolate tucked underneath his pillow when he returned home.

“I thought it was a ‘welcome home’ slab of chocolate but underneath was a pregnancy test which took me by surprise. I didn’t process it until much later. There's a video on Aisha’s phone with my anti-climactic response, but I’ll blame it on the long flight,” he quips.

Aisha tells us she’s enjoying her pregnancy the second time around.

“I’ve slowed down and surrendered to this amazing blessing,” she says. “It’s got hard times for sure – growing a baby ain’t easy but it’s so magical.”

The couple try to be as equal as possible when it comes to their diaper-changing slots. Since Wayne travels a lot, Aisha does most of the changing of nappies but when he’s home it’s more of a bonding session than a chore, he says.

“I’m going for a 60-40 split in Aisha’s favour. I was absolutely dreading it, but I’ve actually enjoyed it ’cause I could bond with Khalid.

”When it comes to their parenting styles, they love spoiling their son. “I’m strict on eating,” Wayne says, “and Aisha is strict when it comes to routine”.

Still, they have fun as a family.

“Khalid is such a social and funny child so there’s always a joke or prank around the corner.”

Now they’re looking forward to double the fun.
