Cape Town – Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine’s new look has us confused – we don’t know whether to love it or hate it.

The 40-year-old singer shared a snap of himself on his Instagram stories sporting the bold new look, Daily Mail reports.

The look, which he dubbed "corn hawk", consists of three bleached blonde cornrow braids running down the centre of his head in a shaved Mohawk style.

The Girls Like You singer who famously keeps in shape, later posted a video of himself in the gym, doing shirtless push-ups with two chains across his back, Page Six reports. This showed off his new 'do in all its glory (or gory?).

"No. It’s not @therock sorry for the confusion," he captioned the video, referencing actor and former WWE star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The Grammy winner has never been one to shy away from bold hairdos and often switches up his hairstyles, E! News reports.

Reactions from fans ranged from shock and upset to anger. But this didn’t seem to faze Adam, who went on to share a photo of his wife, Behati Prinsloo, as they attended a climate-strike rally over the weekend.

"It’s his hair – if he likes it, that’s all that matters," one fan tweeted.

"You know, the one good thing you could say about Adam Levine was, well, at least he’s an attractive man with normal good hair. Well, that time is over now," another said.
