It seems love is in the air for Lee Thompson.
After failing to find love through season one of The Bachelor SA, Lee was willing to try his hand at the unconventional way again through a spin-off show The Bachelor: Summer Games that was set to launch later next year.
However, it seems love has found the Capetonian sooner than he expected.
During an interview with YOU earlier this year, Lee said that he was still looking to find the one.
“I haven’t dated anyone since the show,” Lee told us. “My love life has been a bit slow after the show.
“I just haven’t found the one yet. It’s not that I’m closed off to finding someone, it’s just that it hasn’t happened yet. I really do want to settle down with the right person.”
But things have fast changed for the 24-year-old.
On Thursday 23 July, Lee caused a stir on social media after he posted images of himself with a mystery woman.
“Finally Found You,” he captioned the post with a heart emoji but he quickly deleted it.
But Lee confirmed to YOU that he’s officially taken.
“Yes, I’m in a relationship now. My caption was ‘Finally Found You’ and that’s exactly how I feel.
“I’ve been waiting for her for quite some time now and it’s been worth the wait,” he says.
When asked why he chose to delete the post, the fitness fanatic said that he was open to sharing that he had found love but wanted to choose the perfect picture to depict their union.
“I just changed it to a better image. I took the picture down and replaced it with another. She wishes to stay anonymous at the moment though.”
Although Lee doesn’t want to spill the tea on who the mystery girl is and how he met her, he assures us that he’s in good hands.
“It’s been going really well. It feels great to have found someone who understands me and cares so much for me. It’s reciprocal and it just feels right!” he said.
During the lockdown, Lee has been working out and had his hands full running his cleaning and fitness business. He does, however, love to have someone by his side after a hectic day.
“We’ve been spending a lot of time together,” Lee says.
“We’ve both still been busy with our work but the lockdown has allowed us to spend some good quality time together.”
Speaking of the Bachelor spin-off show, Lee says that since he doesn’t have to be single to be a part of the show he hasn’t written the idea off. “Let’s see what happens.”
