Cape Town - Singer Heinz Winckler’s wife, Aletté-Johanni, recently gave birth to the couple’s fourth child – and it’s a girl! And their three boys are over the moon to have a little sister.

The baby girl, whom they’ve named Alannah, was born on 24 January at 5.20am in the Mediclinic Vergelegen, in Somerset West near Cape Town. She weighed 4,04kg at birth.

The couple’s three sons, Lian (9), Simeon (7) and Rueben (5), had been super excited to meet their new little sister.

“We couldn’t believe their reaction when we finally brought her home. We’d expected Simeon to cry because he’s our sensitive child but he was overjoyed,” Aletté says.

“We caught Lian shedding a few tears while Reuben was just smiling from ear to ear,” she adds.

Mom and daughter were discharged the day after the birth.

“The first night home was great but the next two nights were a bit more challenging. I think it’s the colostrum milk being replaced with regular milk that’s taking Alannah a while to get used to. Otherwise, we’re coping well,” Aletté says.

And the boys?

“Simeon is a little over-eager to help – I have to curb his enthusiasm somewhat. He reckons he can do everything apart from feeding her,” she chuckles.
