The entertainment industry is full of multifaceted artists.

Although many complain about the industry recycling talent instead of giving a platform to new artists, the digital space has opened doors for many people to create opportunities for themselves like never before.

And some of our A-listers are taking the bull by the horns.

Here’s a look at some of our television personalities who are seemingly migrating from television to the recording studio as rappers:

• Nomuzi ‘Moozlie’ Mabena

Mabena’s first big break into the entertainment industry was when she won the MTV Base presenter search in 2012. Two years later, she revealed she also had a passion for rapping.

The media personality has since shot to stardom as an award-winning rapper and one of the most prominent presenters in the country.

• Tshego Koke

MTV Base’s 2017 presenter search winner Tshego Koke has released two singles to give his audience a taste of what he’s been cooking up in studio.

The media personality has proven to be a talent on screen and is much admired as for his good looks too.

Now we anticipate the reception of his newly launched music career.

• Boity Thulo

Boity Thulo is one celebrity whose career evolution has never been predictable. She started out as an actress and presenter, and she later showed that she had other great passions and talents when she launched her toning product (Boity – Toning Support), venturing into the health and fitness space.

In 2017, she closed her TV presenting chapter by bidding farewell to Club 808 and revealed her rapping skills. The Bakae songstress is now South Africa’s first female rapper to go platinum after receiving 3,8 million streams from her first single Wuz Dat featuring Nasty C.

• Shelton Forbes

Shelton Forbes has come a long way in his career.

From debuting his dance skills in the Monate Twa music video by highly acclaimed rapper Tuks and appearing in big brand commercials to winning the hearts of new audiences when he joined Vuzu TV’s V-entertainment. He’s now making his mark in yet another avenue as a rapper.

• William Last Krm

YouTube sensation William Last Krm’s social media timeline has certainly had us chuckling and now he’s proving that he has a lot more to offer than just jokes.

Just two days ago William uploaded a video on Instagram of himself rapping and captioned it, “I can rap too”. He got a positive response and may just be an award-winning hip hop artist in the making, so do keep your eye on his timeline. You heard it here first.
