Oprah has had it with all the rumours!

While most of the world is in quarantine, it seems like some people have run out of things to do and are seemingly falling into the misuse of the internet.

Seeing your favourite celebrity trending nowadays can give you a dreary feeling as you’re hoping that they’ve not been added to the long list of celebrities that have already tested positive for COVID-19.

But Oprah trended for different reasons recently.

On Tuesday night, Oprah Winfrey was trending at number one when an unverified Twitter account alleged that the talk show host had been arrested after her house had been raided for sex trafficking, The Washington Post reports.

The 66-year-old media mogul took to social media slamming the claims after receiving a phone call notifying her of the outrageous slander.

“Just got a phone call that my name is trending,” Oprah said in her tweet. “And being trolled for some awful FAKE thing.

“It’s NOT TRUE. Haven’t been raided or arrested. Just sanitising and self-distancing with the rest of the world. Stay safe everybody.”

Oprah’s Twitter post surely did set the record straight and showed how unbothered she is by the news.

It’s not the first rumour that has gone viral about her, but her long span in the entertainment industry has surely taught her well how to deal with such bogus claims.
