It was the pic that sparked a thousand memes: the iconic shot of former presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders at the inauguration, sitting by himself in his jacket and woolly mittens.
The photo instantly went viral as amateurs and pros alike inserted the Vermont senator's pose into classic paintings, movie stills, album covers, historical photos and other memes. And of course big-name authors such as Alice Hoffman, Shari Lapena and Harlan Coben quickly joined in the fun.
