The artist, born Shahrzad Fooladi to Iranian parents in Sweden, started singing as a pre-teen, obsessed with the music her mother listened to. She was drawn to big vocalists from a young age, and credits the likes of Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson for shaping her sound.
