She’s taken down bad guys with Will Smith in Gemini Man and with the superheroines of Birds of Prey, now Mary Elizabeth Winstead gets to headline her own action movie.

In Kate, on Netflix, she plays the titular assassin who has been poisoned and has just 24 hours to live, precious time she devotes to finding her killers – with the help of Ani (Miku Martineau), the teenage daughter of one of her victims.

Woody Harrelson co-stars as Kate’s handler and father, Varrick. Kate is a character she respected, Mary (36) says.
