Julia Church is one of SA’s most sought-after vocalists and has appeared on tracks for Goldfish and Sun-EL Musician, among others. Now based in the UK, we caught up with the multi-talented 24-year-old to talk about her new track, Cups and Balloons, future plans and working with Paul McCartney!

Tell us about the inspiration behind Cups and Balloons:

I wrote Cups and Balloons with an incredible Swedish artist called Eeva. We wanted to write something that took a more emotional spin on the classic hangover “demons” of the night before. Waking up next to that person who you know isn’t good for you, but they’re your kryptonite. It's about the harmful decisions we can make when we’re vulnerable and in a state of healing.
