Going to the cinema used to be a special experience – for many watching a film just isn’t the same without the smell of popcorn wafting up from your lap and the requisite fizzy drink to wash down the too-much salt followed by something sweet. 

But thanks to Covid-19, film fans have had to make the switch to an at-home experience and streaming services around the world have been in overdrive to ensure they keep up with demand. 

It’s anyone’s guess whether cinemas will survive the pandemic but that hasn’t stopped filmmakers from going all out to produce big hits. Despite shutdowns and delays caused by the coronavirus, there are plenty of fantastic films and spectacular series being released in the next few months on both the big and small screens.
