The cinema plays host to 13 new movies, from Angelina Jolie playing the mom of Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland and Benedict Cumberbatch portraying a Cold War spy, to a reboot of videogame Mortal Kombat and Oscar-winning dramas Nomadland and Judas and the Black Messiah.

Mortal Kombat

When the first Mortal Kombat film was released in 1995, it was one of the few movies based on a videogame that was well received by fans and did well at the box office. But when the sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997), flopped, it put paid to any more movies in the series. This reboot was stuck in development hell for 20 years.
