NETFLIX

I’m not proud of this, but I admit I was more than a little envious of my locked-down neighbours who didn’t have to work from home during lockdown, and consequently got through, like, a year’s worth of binge-viewing in three or four months.

And, as if hearing my muttering about never being able to catch up on Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Narcos and the rest of my watchlist that’s expanding nearly as quickly as my lockdown waistline, Netflix has gifted me (and everyone else, I suppose) with a variable playback speed controller.

It’s a little speedometer-looking icon on the right-hand side of the playback menu bar, which gives you the option of slowing down the playback speed of the movie or show you’re watching, or speeding it up, by up to 1,5 times.
