I’ve always had what’s known as a healthy appetite, and this has led to me being overweight as well as to a lifetime of yoyo dieting. I’m 78 now and 25kg overweight.

About three years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was advised to lose weight, but I’ve found it impossible to do.

I’ve tried a low-carb high-protein diet and am now on a whole-food plant diet, but it feels as if it’s all just been one step forward and two steps back.
