Everyone at the Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital is elated at the news that a pangolin rescued from poaching earlier this year has recovered enough to have a pup.
South African Police Service’s (SAPS) Endangered Species Unit rescued the pangolin Ally on 25 April in the Alldays area in Limpopo. Poachers had been trying to sell her illegally.
A veterinarian in Polokwane examined her, while a specialist vet from Joburg also went to help.
