Plants convert light energy from the sun and store it (potential energy). When we eat the plants our bodies can use the energy to move (kinetic energy). 

Energy is the ability to perform a task. Simply put: energy makes things happen. You need energy to do things such as ride a bike, work on a computer, cook food or travel by plane, train or car.
