When President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation last month to announce level 1 of lockdown, he asked everybody to download the Covid Alert SA app.
The app lets South African users know if they’ve been in close proximity of someone who has Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, so we can avoid spreading the virus to other people.
“Contact tracing is an important preventative measure to protect yourself and your close family and friends,” the president said.
