The G7 summit is held every year and is a meeting of what’s known as the Group of Seven – the leaders of the world’s largest economies. They are the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
Each year a different country takes a turn to host the summit. Last year’s summit was meant to be hosted by the US but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This year it took place between 11 and 13 June and was hosted by the UK in Carbis Bay, a pretty seaside town in Cornwall.
