The capital of Lebanon, Beirut, is still chaotic after a massive explosion in the city’s harbour earlier this month. Apart from the many injuries and deaths and a huge clean-up operation that will take months, the Lebanese people have also taken to the streets in protest against their government.  

What happened? 

The explosion in Beirut’s port was sparked by the ignition of stocks of the chemical ammonium nitrate.
