I use lean pork in these pies and lots of veggies such as sweet potatoes and carrots. I cook the mixture in orange juice for added vitamin C. Phyllo pastry is thin so you’re not using a lot of pastry and it’s not oily. Pumpkin seeds on top add extra nutrients.

1 Meat Season the meat with salt and roll in the maizena. Shallow-fry in a saucepan in batches until slightly browned. Remove.

2 Fry the onions, garlic and cinnamon sticks until the onions are soft. Add the rest of the spices and mix through.
