Pears are versatile and in season now. Here’s how to make the most of this fantastic fruit. 

MALVA PUDDING WITH POACHED PEARS

The pears are poached in rooibos syrup, then included in the malva pudding, a SA favourite. To save time, you can use canned pears.

TIP Serve hot or at room temperature with custard or ice cream.

PEAR AND THYME TARTE TATIN

Thyme and pears make for an interesting flavour combination. These tarts can be dessert or even served as part of a cheese board.

TIP Season with sea salt and extra thyme (if using) and serve at room temperature.

CRISPY PEAR AND CAMEMBERT STACK WITH PEPPER AND CHEDDAR CRACKERS

Drizzle a little honey over the stack and serve with the crackers.
