Duck! That’s something Maci Currin from Texas in the US has to do whenever she walks through a door. Why? Because she has long legs – very long legs – and if she doesn’t dip her head she’s likely to whack it on the door frame. But the super-tall teen wouldn’t have it any other way.
Maci has the lofty honour of holding the Guinness World Record for the longest legs. The 17-year-old’s left leg measures 135,2cm while her right leg is a tad shorter at 134,3cm, according to Guinness World Records, who confirmed her title.
Despite most of her family being tall, Maci still towers over them at 2m, with her legs making up 60 percent of her height.
Although Maci was often teased about being tall, she never let it get to her.
“I was never bullied for my legs. I was bullied
because I was taller than everyone,” Maci says.
“Around sophomore year I just stopped caring what people thought of me and once I just stopped caring I wasn't affected by anything.”
In an interview with Newsflare, Maci reveals that she often has to have her clothes altered.
“Pants and leggings, I have to get
them custom-made.”
She adds special occasions have become tricky: “You’ve got to really plan ahead.”
Despite the challenges, the teen who does modelling and is popular on TikTok, encourages women to embrace their uniqueness.
“Don’t hide it, embrace it. I hope tall women can see height is a gift and you shouldn't be ashamed that you're tall – you should really embrace it,” she said.
Maci snatched the world record from Russia’s Ekaterina Lisina, whose legs are 113cm long. She hopes to study in the UK.
Despite being crowned with the longest legs title, Maci still has quite a way to go to become the tallest woman in the world. The current recordholder is 33-year-old Sun Fang from China who’s a staggering 2,2m tall.
