Many people have tried to recreate the late Freddie Mercury's iconic look but this kitten is the queen of all copycats.

Mostaccioli, a one-year-old rescue cat, was born with a pitch-black moustache.

When her owner started sharing pictures of her on Instagram, the internet dubbed her "Freddie Purrcury".

Social-media users simply can't get enough of the kitty’s striking resemblance to the Queen frontman.

"If Freddie Mercury was a cat," one person posted, while another added Mostaccioli “might be the cutest cat on the planet”.

The moggie might be stealing hearts on social media but Mostaccioli had a rough start in life.

Her owner, Natalie, from California in the US, discovered the stray kitten whimpering in her mother’s garden when she was just one day old on 30 August 2020. Mostaccioli, along with her three brothers, was soaking wet because of the garden sprinklers.

Natalie decided to adopt Mostaccioli but found loving homes for her siblings, Ravioli, Tortellini and Fettuccine.

Mostaccioli has an adopted sister, Izanami, and Natalie says the two are the best of furry friends.

The cats seem to have a purrfect life: Natalie loves dressing them up in adorable outfits and splurges on their toys and delicious food.

Izanami enjoys chicken and crunchy treats with a cream filling while Mostaccioli also loves crunchy treats but “will eat absolutely everything”, Natalie says.

"She's a super-sweet cat," she says.
