Keen for a spot of luxury at the end of this torrid year? Then this bling beauty could be the place for you – provided you can afford to get there and stay there, of course.
After 11 years of construction to the tune of R13 billion, the Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, opened its doors to guests keen to feel like Midas for a while.
Almost everything here is gold-plated, from the baths and the taps to the infinity pool and the cutlery in the restaurants.
The property also boasts a gold lobby and the exterior of the building is covered in a ton of gold, The Sun reports.
Guests can pay anything from R3 000 per night for a regular room to R15 000 a night for an executive suite. There are also apartments available for rent at R99 000 per square metre.
Nguyen Huu Duong, the owner of the 25-storey property, says he wants to make this the most luxurious hotel in the world, while also making it “an affordable option” for people.
“At the moment, there is no other hotel like this in the world,” Nguyen told the Daily Mail.
“Our group has a factory that can do gold-plated stuff, so the cost for our equipment and furniture here is quite cheap.”
Despite this crazy year, several guests have already taken to various travelling sites to boast about their stay at the hotel.
“Extraordinary interior design as the hotel is fully plated with 24K GOLD!” one wrote on Tripadvisor. “Modern, contemporary and the hotel has plenty of ‘instagrammable’ spots in every corner for us to take pictures, especially the golden infinity swimming pool on the rooftop.”
