She’s had 11 children in 11 years and has no plans to stop anytime soon. Courtney Rogers has her hands full as a mother of a soccer team’s worth of kids but the 36-year-old American plans to bring more babies into the world.

“I love being pregnant. I love growing another person inside of me, thinking about what they’ll be like and picking out their names,” she says.

Courtney lives on a farm in New Mexico with her husband, Chris (32). The couple met at church camp in 2007 and married a year later. “My husband is the eldest of 10, so before we got married, he joked about having as many kids as his mom had,” she says.

In 2010, she fell pregnant with their first child, Clint (11). Since then, the couple have welcomed Clay (9), Cade (8), Callie (7), Cash (5), twins Colt and Case (4), Calena, (3), Caydue (2), Coralee (23 months) and Caris, who was born last November.

Raising such a big family is both challenging and expensive, but the couple plan on having at least 14 children. “I don’t think I ever imagined having this many children when we married,” Courtney says.

“I just knew I wanted children and when I became a mother, I realised how much I loved it. Having several kids in diapers at once and having lots of strollers is normal life to us.”

To save money, the stay-at-home mom and her pastor husband homeschool their brood. They rarely eat out, forego Christmas gifts and dress the children in hand-me-downs. The older children also do chores around the house.

Courtney, who’s one of six kids, chooses not to use birth control because she doesn’t “like the idea of taking a pill”.

She’s delivered four of her children via C-section and doctors warned her to leave a longer period between pregnancies, but she believes hospitals are well prepared to deal with high-risk pregnancies.

Chris, who also does odd jobs to help feed his large family, loves being a dad to such a big brood. “It gives me such pleasure to see the children growing up,” he says. “Each has their own gifts, and I love to see them using them around the home and at church.”

The family have an Instagram account where Courtney shares her experiences on motherhood, family and farm life. Though the couple have been criticised online for having so many kids, they don’t pay much attention to the comments.

Courtney says they give equal attention to all 11 kids and have more than enough love and patience to further grow their family. “We want to have more children – 14 even,” she says.
