It was impossible for him to abandon his search for his abducted son. Over a period of 24 years, Guo Gangtang travelled 500 000 kilometres, criss-crossing 20 provinces in China on a motorcycle, desperately hoping to be reunited with the boy who was snatched from home when he was just two years old.

“Only on the road, I felt I am a father,” he said in 2015. “I have no reason to stop searching. And it’s impossible for me to stop.”
