This dog can paint, mop, ride a scooter, play the drums, hang shirts, push swings and even do yoga. Honestly, with a dog like this, do you even need anyone else in your life?

Australian Shepherd Secret is a therapy dog to Mary Peters (21) – and she’s fast become an internet sensation thanks to her many talents. Mary, who lives with autism, trained Secret “to help me negotiate situations that are difficult for me”, she told

Therapy dogs can help people with autism, especially children, to feel socially and emotionally secure.

Mary and her four-legged BFF became an internet sensation after a recent video of them doing yoga – or as she calls it, “doga,” went viral on social media.

“Secret has been working on the last pose for a while now, but I think she’s finally gotten the hang of it! At first, she had a hard time holding her paws without rolling onto one side or the other, but she’s learned how to keep her balance,” Mary wrote on Instagram.

The besties’ joint Instagram account has nearly 700 000 followers, most of whom are in awe of the many tricks the four-year-old furry can do.

Secret’s tricks all began when Mary came across an eight-year-old Australian Shepherd named Ivy Kite on Instagram who could paint. Mary decided to teach Secret to do the same and they started with small lines on paper and moved on to drawing circles.

Secret was such a fast learner that Mary started to teach her all her favourite activities, from playing the guitar to baking and dancing. The pair even push each other on the swings at their local park.

In 2019 Mary challenged Secret to a game of Jenga, which she’s now learned to play without dropping the pieces. A video of one of their Jenga games went viral, with nearly a million views on Instagram alone.

Mary uses “positive-orientated training without physical or psychological intimidation” to teach Secret, she explains. Each time Secret does something well, Mary rewards her with a treat – no wonder the pooch is so eager to learn.

“Everyone needs a hero,” Mary says. “And it’s no Secret who mine is.”
